Erick Saucedo
Erick Saucedo was born in Mexico City in 1991. He graduated from the National University of Mexico (UNAM) in 2016, where he studied visual arts and the history of Mexican art.
Saucedo is part of a vibrant and exciting group of contemporary artists from Mexico City, who are rapidly gaining attention in Asia, Europe and across the Americas, as Mexico City is becoming an international hotspot for the creative arts.
Saucedo is both ironic and mischievous with a wonderful sense of humor, and his visionary painting clearly embody these traits.
His paintings and drawings seem playful and seeped in scenes of an idyllic past as well as a science fiction-like future, beautifully painted and immensely compelling, giving the viewer a sense of well-being and optimism contrasted with a need to act in regards to the problems we face as a collective species on the planet.
Recently the Mexican Museum in San Francisco hosted a virtual exhibition for the young artist titled New Myths, showcasing a number of fantastic ink on paper and oil on canvas works.
